Department of Applied Mechanics

About Department

Applied mechanics bridges the gap between physical theory and its application to technology.Applied Mechanics can be defined as the practical application of the behavior of physical bodies when subjected to forces or displacements and the subsequent effect of the bodies on their environment. Pretty much all engineering disciplines directly or indirectly rely on Applied Mechanics. Applied mechanics is useful in formulating new ideas and theories, discovering and interpreting phenomena, and developing experimental and computational tools. The Applied Mechanics department is well equipped with equipments and other necessary facilities.

Vision

To educate students for having successful career in the field of engineering by imparting quality education, knowledge, skills to research.

Mission

To prepare well qualified and recognized engineers, able to formulate, analyze and interpret various Engineering problems and propose most efficient and economical solution to serve the society and nation at their best level.

Department of Applied Physics

Dr.S.D.Jain
Professor & Head

About Department :

The Department of Applied Physics has faculty keenly devoted to teaching, research and knowledge based education. They have been actively involved in the academic improvement of students using a twofold approach. On one hand students are educated for better performance in examinations and on the other hand they are guided for better knowledge orientation. Over the years the department has made significant contributions to improvement in first year results as well as to research areas such as Elastic and Acoustic Studies of solids, Luminescence and radiation dosimetry electroceramics and physics education.

The department has taken a proactive initiative to develop a Physics Knowledge Centre that aims to develop a knowledge based approach among students in order to equip them with abilities to face today's knowledge based world with confidence and maturity. This initiative strives to convey how knowledge promises enjoyment, employment, empowerment and enlightenment through a series of knowledge centric activities.

The department has a team of Four faculty members who have made notable contributions in their areas of research (Luminescence and Ceramics) through papers in national and international journals and conferences of leading repute. The articles, books and vision documents contributed by the faculty have fetched accolades from persons of national and international eminence.

1. Dr. Sanjay Jain has received BEST WRITER AWARD from RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur on 5th September 2017.

2. The proposal, Vision for Knowledge Based India, developed by Dr.Jain and the work based on this proposal has been encouraged by several eminent persons that include Dr. APJ Kalam, Mr. Sam Pitroda, Mrs. Pratibha Patil and Prof. CNR Rao

3. The book on Engineering Physics authored by Dr.Jain is reviewed as an excellent book in Current Science (Vol. 100, No. 10, 25 May 2011) and has been included as a reference book in several prominent Universities that include Anna University and JNTU.

4. Two books for the students of B.Tech.(Chemical Engg, Bio-Technology and Chemical Engineering) - I sem and II sem namely Applied Physics -I and Applied Physics-II are authored by Miss. Sawde.

Department of Humanities

About the Department :

The Department of Humanities plays a unique and distinctive role in an institute where the culture of science and technology prevails. It is believed that engineering and science are humanistic and socially deprived enterprises. Hence a complete science and technology education must include study of languages, economics, social and behavioral sciences where the students unites application of scientific principles along with human, moral and social understanding.
The undergraduate courses taught by the Department faculty aim at making the science and technology students aware of the various issues concerning man and society. They are meant to sensitize students to the broader social, cultural, economic, ethical and humane issues involved in social change.
The Department possesses well-equipped Language Laboratory. The department also takes care of the mental and spiritual health of the students through Meditation Sessions. The meditation slots have been included in the regular time table for all students of all semesters of the institute.
Psychology and memory training expert, Soft Skills training expert are appointed for the overall personality development of the students. Courses in Foreign language is conducted by the Department.
Apart from the above experts, guest lectures are regularly organized for brain storming sessions.
Every year the Department organises many student oriented activities like Intra collegiate Debate Competition, Extempore, solving Case studies & group discussions.
For the fulfillment of its teaching and research goals, the Department has competent faculty members with a high degree of excellence who keep pace with the current developments in their fields of specialization.
All faculty Strives hard to meet the intellectual challenge and at the same time they remain conscious of their special obligations to address the social needs of India.

Vision

Developing quality technocrats for techno-socio-economic human reformation by providing sound knowledge and moral values to the students to face the global challenges.

Mission

1.   To encourage its students to be socially aware, intellectual individuals who are capable of making independent assessments of themselves.
2.   To set right the knowledge of the students in the fields of social sciences and the world around us.
3.   To acquaint students with global communication skills.
4.   To educate students on the Indian political and national system so as to deepen their respect, understanding, and loyalty to their country in this age of brain-drain.
